This is the Woman!

This is the woman
Who gave me life although it risked her own

This is the woman
Who held my hand, and now calls on the phone

This is the woman
Who played the keys while I sang Disney songs

This is the woman
Who bought us things from Albertson's and Long's

This is the woman
Who spent her time and money on gymnastics

This is the woman
Who sewed me pants with waistbands of elastic

This is the woman
Who praised me for the talents that I had

This is the woman
Dearly loved by someone I call "Dad"

This is the woman
You will find at every corner yard sale

This is the woman
Who often knows conpiracies in detail

This is the woman
Who sent me to my room when I was wild

This is the woman
Who now sends birthday cards to each grandchild

This is the woman
Dearer to my heart than any other

This is the woman
I am blessed to lovingly call "Mother"

Congratulations!

I think a few congratulations are in order today...

This morning, Solei had one of their big regattas two hours away in Wyandotte, Michigan. This was the first overnight, out-of-town school event she has ever been to. She has been working hard, eating healthy and getting exercise to be in top physical condition, and she has worked her way up from the "B" boat to the "A" boat. This morning they won first place in the eight man boat and 2nd in the 4 person boat, against about 7 other schools. Way to go Solei!

Ella has been working hard too, learning to ride her bike without training wheels and today she finally got it! It always amazes me how it seems to just suddenly click with kids and they take off like they've been riding that way all their lives. Congratulations, Ella!

We had a new basketball hoop installed today, one of those in-ground deals that you can't take with you if you move (hopefully we're here for a while, cuz it wasn't cheap!). Taron was making some good shots tonight and made it in the hoop 6 times in a row! Awesome playing, Taron! He is also on the verge of losing another tooth, so we'll see if there is another congratulations sometime tonight...

Chris took Caden and Sierra golfing today while I was at the park with the little kids, and although I wasn't there, Caden says they played good. Congratulations on a good game, guys!

I guess that's about it, I just felt like today was full of fun accomplishments and wanted to record it all.
